Funny Friday- "It's mine!"

Avery is recently concerned with possession or ownership. She is constantly labeling things she sees by who it belongs to. If she sees her daddy's computer or favorite coffee mug, for example, she points to it and says, "Dada's". If she sees a pair of my shoes or my hairbrush she says, "Mama's". When she sees Ashlyn's purse or game she says, "DeDe". (Her attempt at saying Ashlyn sounds like DeDe. This sounds nothing like 'Ashlyn' but she consistently uses it. Maybe she is trying to say 'sister' since I sometimes refer to Ashlyn as sister). However, Avery is most concerned with things that belong to her. EVERYTHING is... "It's mine!" Her shoes, her dolls, her blankets, her favorite bib, her life jacket, books, toys, her toothbrush, you name it. Even things that clearly aren't hers, but maybe she wishes is hers, she labels as hers. Usually she states this will a very matter-of-fact tone in her voice, "It's Mine!" but at times there is some question in her voice, "It's mine?" Reminds me of the saying- "What's mine is mine and what's yours is Mine!" Yes baby, it's yours! :-)
